In Our Own Words: Portraits of Brooklyn Vietnam Veterans
Extended showing at the Brooklyn Historical Society
This audio installation uses oral histories, portraits, and personal artifacts to explore the impact of the Vietnam War on the lives of Brooklyn's diverse residents, from the first person perspective. You'll "meet" eight people who were touched by the Vietnam War, and share in their memories of the War as well as gaining insight into how it affects them today.

Vigils for Darfur
First Tuesday of each month 12:00–2:00 pm
At US Mission to the United Nations, 140 E. 45th St, (between Lexington and 3rd Ave.), Manhattan
This is the time for the U.S. to use its leverage to push UN to enforce the resolutions it has already passed.
Deploy the already-authorized UN troops (UNAMID) and impose multilateral sanctions on the Sudanese regime, to end ongoing atrocities, being carried out with impunity by the Sudanese government.
Call for international justice and accountability, including arrest of Sudanese officials who have been indicted by the International Criminal Court.
Now is a time of renewed violence in Darfur. On March 4, 2009, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for President Al-Bashir, who has responded by expelling aid groups which are providing essential services (food, health care, water) for more than a million Darfuris in Internally-Displaced-Person camps.
