Trick or Treat for UNICEF 2014

It’s Trick or Treat for UNICEF season! This year will mark the 64th Anniversary of Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF.

Join Brooklyn For Peace and walk in The Park Slope Halloween Parade Monday, October 31, 2o14. The Halloween Parade route will start at 11th Street and 7th Avenue and end at the Old Stone House right off 5th Avenue in Brooklyn.

We need volunteers!

  • The Saturday before Halloween, 10/25, we need volunteers to help hand out Unicef collecting boxes at the Grand Army NYC Greenmarket and then on Sunday, 10/26, at the Farmers Market at 5th Ave. & 3rd St.
  • On Halloween, 10/31, we need volunteers to staff collection boxes along the parade route on Halloween Monday October 31 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

For more than 60 years, Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF has served as the Original Kids Helping Kids campaign. In 1950, children across America were inspired to collect coins for UNICEF to aid children abroad enduring the after-effects of World War II. It was not just a charity effort—it was a call to end the needless suffering of their more vulnerable peers around the globe. Since then, for generations of Americans, Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF has been a powerful way to make a difference in the lives of the world’s children

Please join us again to support this important event. I hope we can count on you to help.

Anyone who would like to have UNICEF boxes delivered anywhere in the city, you can call 1-800-FOR-KIDS. Usually they need 2 days notice to deliver.
