Oppose Israel's On-Going Blockade of Gaza! Support U.S. Boat to Gaza!

In the aftermath of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla massacre (May 31, 2010) and increased world-wide scrutiny of Israel's blockade of Gaza, the Israeli government has "eased" the restrictions on imports in to Gaza. However, the blockade of Gaza is still a reality.Vital building materials and other supplies are banned, exports of goods from Gaza are denied and neither ships nor people can enter or leave Gaza without permission from Israel. Gaza remains essentially an open-air prison. The U.S. government thus far has refused to challenge Israel's maintenance of the blockade.

Brooklyn For Peace opposes the blockade of Gaza. We do not believe that it is justified by any real self-defense or security concerns of Israel. We are committed to working for a negotiated solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. We have endorsed the U.S. Boat to Gaza campaign, which is currently raising funds to support a U.S. boat to Gaza (the "Audacity of Hope") which will join a flotilla of ships from Europe, Canada, India, South Africa and parts of the Middle East, as soon as possible.

Join our Israel-Palestine Committee to work on ongoing ways in which we as U.S. citizens can oppose our government's policy of uncritical support for Israel's policy of collective punishment of Palestinians.
